Title Second Assistant Analyst, Not over 27 years of age. Must be an Associate or Fellow of the Institute of Chemistry, or an Associate of the Royal College of Science & Technology, London. He will be under the orders of the Principal Civil Medical Officer.
2360 rising to 2420 yearly by two triennial incremente of £30 together with a travelling allowance of $30 (Mex) per month.
Free first class passage to Hongkong by steamer other than mail, and from Hongkong at end of three years if conduct satisfactory and agreement terminated.

The application should be made to the Director of the Imperial Institute of Science and Technology, London; and to the Registrar of the Institute of Chemistry, Bloomsbury Square, London, .c. The person selected should be sent out as soon as possible.
The person sent out must agree to serve for 3 years, after which, if the Government desirable desires to retain his services he must be taken on to the permanent staff, should there be a vacancy thereon. In case of his leaving of his own accord or on account of dismissal before the termination of his agree- ment, the passage money paid, for the voyage to Hongkong must be refunded, if taken on the permanent and pensionable establishment his in which such provision is] salary will be subject to a deduction of 4%
